This is a patient who travelled from Kuwait with a large vascular tumor in the left side of her face extending from the skull all the way down into the mouth and around the jaw. The attached MRI image shows the extent of the tumor. Given that she was only 16 and considering the cultural impact of visible scars, every effort was made to remove the tumor with minimal conspicuous incisions. The entire tumor was able to be removed through an intraoral incision by dissecting the facial nerve off of the tumor as it was removed. The patient can be seen postoperatively with the tumor out and no visible scars.
